The BEP Curriculum Improvement offer includes specialist–led subject networks in English and in 10 foundation subjects. Each course will be delivered by experts in their field. This session will be led by Andrew Fox.
A one hour seminar on traditional art. Teachers will share practice on ways of teaching traditional art, and hear from Art UK who will introduce delegates to working with their digital collection of over 300,000 works from 3400 British institutions, and their new teaching tool The Superpower of Looking.
Modern Art with Art UKA seminar on the modern art movement by Andrew Fox. Teachers will be invited to share practice on how they are teaching modern art in their setting. Art UK will then deliver their second session on the ‘Super Power of Looking’ linked to modern art, with another teacher case study on how they are implementing this in their setting.
Teaching Contemporary ArtHosted at the beautiful, Grade II listed Ikon Gallery at Brindleyplace in the centre of Birmingham. In this session Andrew will lead a seminar and workshop on Contemporary Art and teachers will share practice on curriculum teaching learning ideas in teaching contemporary art. Delegates will then be treated to a tour and special viewing of 2 contemporary art shows by the Ikon team and receive the brand new Ikon teacher resources and school packs. Refreshments will be served with a summer drink to toast the end the series.
