This Dance Network Session is Arts Leads in Special Schools and Primary Schools and early career secondary dance teachers. This will be an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with fellow professionals, exchange best practices, and uncover fresh strategies for student engagement. We strongly encourage headteachers and teachers to participate to explore innovative teaching techniques, champion high-quality arts education, and have a dedicated forum to address challenges and opportunities specific to their schools.
The dance network is led by FABRIC and the first two sessions are funded by Centre for Advanced Training Programme. FABRIC will be leading a total of 6 sessions in partnership with Birmingham Arts School. The remaining five sessions are specifically aimed at Secondary Dance leads whilst this first session is open to a range of key stages.
This session will give teachers a toolkit of creative dance activities to use with children and young people and explore how you can incorporate dance into your curriculum.
Suitable for non-specialists as well as those with some dance experience. We hope the workshop will ‘demystify’ the process of planning and delivering engaging dance lessons for the non-specialist teacher, whilst providing fresh and updated skills for those with more experience. This session is suitable for dance leads in Special Schools and Primary Schools as well as early career secondary dance teachers and artists looking to develop their craft.
