BEP English Conference

BEP School Improvement
Tuesday 14th January 2025
09:00 - 16:00

Overview:

In the pursuit of excellence, a shift in focus from writing to the writer has enabled some schools to embed a writing for pleasure approach and, in turn, increase writing attainment. Join us for an inspiring day of professional development focused on empowering teachers and enhancing student success in English.

  • Explore strategies to support pupils’ English knowledge acquisition—from Early Reading to KS3 English.
  • Discover practical approaches to help pupils transition from learning to read to reading to learn, fostering deeper text comprehension and literacy confidence.
  • Hear from respected speakers in the field including acclaimed author Christopher Such with his insightful keynote: "What Every Primary Teacher Should Know About Reading", and Lesley Sullivan, Ofsted HMI, will present: "What Next for English? Findings and Reflections for Curriculum Development from the 2024 English Subject Report."
