Arts Partnership Showcases provide headteachers with a chance to observe live arts practice in schools, meet arts organizations, and discuss how to integrate these practices into their own settings.
In 2024/2025, Birmingham Arts School will host three showcases featuring live arts demonstrations and presentations from arts organizations on their educational offers.
This showcase will be held at Hillcrest School (Stonehouse Ln, Bartley Green, Birmingham B32 3AE) on Wednesday 12th February from 8:30am to 11:00am, featuring Loudmouth Education and Training and Birmingham Museums Trust.
Headteachers and arts leads will hear from Rachel Glendening, Life Skills Coordinator and Geography Teacher at Hillcrest School, on embedding arts partnerships with Loudmouth to support their Drama and PSHE curriculums. Loudmouth aims to use drama to support children and young people to have happy, healthy and safe lives. They create and run theatre in education programmes for primary, secondary and college aged young people and specialise in safeguarding issues including exploitation and abuse and RSHE issues including puberty and sexual health. Attendees will first watch Loudmouth's performance and workshop to get a clear grasp of the live audience reaction and impact of such performances and then will partake in a presenation by Birmingham Museums Trust whose education programme offers a wide range of stimulating and memorable experiences for school, all of which are designed to inspire and engage students. These offerings include taught on-site sessions at six of their venues, outreach sessions with their mobile planetarium, museum in a box loans service with over 200 loans boxes to choose from Teacher CPD sessions and more.
