Arts in Schools Conference 2024

Overview:

The Arts in Schools conference unites artists, cultural organisations, and teachers to reinforce the impact of arts education. The theme of this next conference is about change-making. How do we prioritise the arts and make them part of our schools ethos, curriculum and pedagogy. It's a day to be inspired, invigorated with new ideas, and surrounded by creativity.

The next AISC will take place on Friday 25th October. What can you expect?

There will be two keynote speakers. Casey Bailey, Poet Laureate and Richard Russell, Cheif Operating Officer at Arts Council England will be presenting and opening the event.

There will be an Arts marketplace where you can meet cultural learning staff across multiple companies and learn about their education offers for schools.

There will be 9 workshops taking place on the day led by 9 different arts organisations. Upon booking your place from the Arts in Schools conference you will be able to book ONE workshop from EACH of the three time slots below.

Sonia Sabri Company – Activate the curriculum with rhythm, movement and music! (Suitable for Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Special Schools)

Vamos Theatre – CPD Full Mask-Theatre Workshop (Suitable for Secondary Schools and Special Schools)

14.30 – 15.30

Loudmouth – How to look at anti-bullying with school children, using the arts (Suitable for Primary Schools and Secondary Schools)

Sampad - 'Spirit of Light' - Diwali Stories for Schools - (Suitable for Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Special Schools)

Birmingham Repertory Theatre - Drama in Education- Bringing your curriculum to life (Suitable for Primary Schools and Secondary Schools)

There will be a panel discussion to end the day. Chaired by Bhavik Parmar (Director of Birmingham Arts School) alongside Richard Hayhow (Director of Open Theatre), Harpinder Singh (Headteacher, Queensbridge School), Deborah Buillavant (CEO of Grimm and Co) Harr-Joht Kaur (Advisor, Sangat Studio)

The price will be £85 per delegate and will include lunch. Sign up by Friday 18th October 2025.
