Summer Term - Arts Opportunities for Secondary Schools
Hello all,

I hope you're well and that the term has started smoothly. There are just FIVE events remaining in the Birmingham Arts School calendar for secondary schools this academic year. I’m sharing these now to give you as much notice as possible to prepare and book places. If you have any questions about the below please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Arts Partnership Showcase at Colmore Junior School – £30pp
A chance to see the work of Sampad and hear from DesiBlitz about their engagement with young people and schools.

\uD83D\uDCC5 12th June, 4pm–6pm
Teaching Differently CPD, in partnership with Open Theatre at Uffculme School – £30pp
Open Theatre specialises in non-verbal drama for young people with SEND. This CPD introduces powerful techniques to enhance inclusion in both mainstream and special school settings.

Secondary Drama Network, led by Birmingham Repertory Theatre – £45pp
Theme: Approaches to Practitioners – Deep dive into the techniques of Stanislavski, Brecht, Boal, and Artaud. Gain practical tools for applying their work in the classroom and student-led productions.

Dance in Education: Practical Workshop Day, in partnership with FABRIC – £60pp
A full-day CPD exploring Engaging Males in Dance and Authentic Jazz Techniques, led by experienced practitioners from FABRIC.

\uD83D\uDCC5 10th July, 1.30pm–3.30pm
Secondary Art Network – Sketchbooks and Creative Artist Analysis – £45pp
Led by Jo Baptiste (Director of Arts, Bishop Challoner Catholic College). Created in response to teacher demand, this session focuses on developing sketchbooks and approaches to analysing artists.
