Dance Track is Birmingham Royal Ballets flagship talent identification programme that introduces Year 1 pupils in Birmingham primary schools to dance and offers opportunities for pupils, teachers and parents to get to know more about BRB's work.
Running for over 25 years, the project identifies and offers training to children showing potential for dance. Schools across the north, south and centre of Birmingham sign up with us each year, and our expert team run workshops in the Spring Term for all Year 1 students, introducing dance in a fun and friendly way that is accessible to even the most hesitant dancer!
Our workshops are all delivered live in your school and are priced at £165 per Year 1 class (+VAT). This price includes a 1-hour workshop delivered by one of our dance artists alongside a live pianist!
Around 100 children a year who show a talent for dance are invited to join BRB's Dance Track training programme. The participants, who often wouldn't otherwise have an opportunity to participate in dance, are given free weekly ballet lessons taught by Birmingham Royal Ballet staff. In addition to weekly classes, students are invited to Birmingham Royal Ballet to have a look behind the scenes and to meet Company dancers, and are offered tickets to see Birmingham Royal Ballet performances at Birmingham Hippodrome.
