Final Chance to join Birmingham Royal Ballet's Dance Track Programme in Spring 2025

Dance Track is Birmingham Royal Ballets flagship talent identification programme that introduces Year 1 pupils in Birmingham primary schools to dance and offers opportunities for pupils, teachers and parents to get to know more about BRB's work.

Running for over 25 years, the project identifies and offers training to children showing potential for dance. Schools across the north, south and centre of Birmingham sign up with us each year, and our expert team run workshops in the Spring Term for all Year 1 students, introducing dance in a fun and friendly way that is accessible to even the most hesitant dancer!

Our workshops are all delivered live in your school and are priced at £165 per Year 1 class (+VAT). This price includes a 1-hour workshop delivered by one of our dance artists alongside a live pianist!

Around 100 children a year who show a talent for dance are invited to join BRB's Dance Track training programme. The participants, who often wouldn't otherwise have an opportunity to participate in dance, are given free weekly ballet lessons taught by Birmingham Royal Ballet staff. In addition to weekly classes, students are invited to Birmingham Royal Ballet to have a look behind the scenes and to meet Company dancers, and are offered tickets to see Birmingham Royal Ballet performances at Birmingham Hippodrome.

Dance Track offers participating schools the following:

  • Workshops in school for all Year 1 pupils during spring term. These are one-hour long and delivered by a dance artist and pianist.
  • Selected children from your school will be invited to attend a final workshop at Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Studios with a view to inviting them to join regular dance classes with BRB.
  • Save 20% discount on any additional workshops or projects with BRB, such as our cross-curricular Ballet Unwrapped projects.
  • Special ticket offers for your staff, pupils and their families.
  • Support and advice for teachers delivering dance in the curriculum, with discounted CPD opportunities.
  • Invitations to dance focused networking events for teachers.
  • Support and advice for Arts Award.
  • Invitations to see your pupils in class and performances.

You can book your spot now by completing the following form. Applications must be received by 20 December 2024.
