BAS Presents the S.T.A.G.E Web App!

Birmingham Art School is launching the S.T.A.G.E Web App. ‘Surplus Tickets Are Great Experiences’ is a web app created by InEdTech Solutions and Birmingham Arts School. This web app has been developed to ensure more young people get access to high quality performances across the city.

Working alongside B:Music, The Alexandra, Birmingham Royal Ballet,  Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham Repertory Theatre and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra this app will provide schools with access to free ticket offers for shows where there is extra capacity. This will mean arts organisations can list their offer for schools onto the app and schools can then ring up and claim those tickets.

In the first 6 months, only 50% of the schools in the city will have access to the app. We are targeting the schools that are a mix of being in deprived areas and least engaged with arts organisations according to the cultural landscapes map (https://bep.education/bas/cultural-landscapes/) and the data provided in the map for the 2023-2024 financial year.

To check whether your school is currently eligible and to nominate a representative from your school to access the app please use the following web link and REGISTER on the form at the bottom of the page:

https://inedtechsolutions.wixsite.com/bas-stage-app

If you do not see your school on the list, please be patient, all schools will have access to the app in 6 months time.

How will it work?

  1. Visit the link above and register a staff member from your school if you are in the list of eligible schools
  2. Once you’ve registered you’ll receive a login access link and login details to the app itself by the end of the week. (If not sooner)
  3. Login to the app, find the show offers currently on display, ring up the box office for the organisation you wish to book tickets for and state the name of your school. Each of the 5 arts organisations have a list of the eligible schools and the app will only let them offer tickets to these particular schools.
  4. Please always visit the direct show pages for shows you are interested to double check age guidance, trigger warnings and other information you may need to know. The app will only display minimal information about shows that have surplus tickets for schools to claim

Each school in the list outlined, will be able to claim one set of surplus tickets via the Stage WebApp, every 6 months. In this way we ensure there is an even spread of ticket access for young people across the city.

The list will be expanded in the near future so if you do not see your school listed yet, your time will come!

We’re really excited to bring this app to Birmingham Schools as we understand the pressures on funding schools are facing and we want to ensure that these pressures do not limit or sacrifice the creative experiences that young people in the city deserve.
